An incredibly heartwarming experience at the Suffern Community Center yesterday the Suffern PD, municipal members, Chamber members and community members came together under the guidance of and led by our beloved Chief Clarke Osborn! The Chief welcomed volunteers as they entered and the giddy frenzy of sorting unwrapped new toys began. Elves of all ages scurried about the center pulling toys from bags and placing them on labeled tables indicating the gender, age range, or activity of the toys. Mid-way through, when all the presents were in place, Chief Osborn then asked volunteers to line up and get "shopping lists". Bag after bag were filled with toys for those children in need. A few stations were manned and groups of volunteer kids and volunteer families approached with statements like "I need a game for a 10yr old boy, 8yr old girl and 4yr old boy". Other volunteers were busy providing free cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and refreshments while all listened to holiday music. We will continue to add photos to this album as they come in. Thank you to Chief Osborn, and the Village of Suffern for pulling together this touching annual event.
