Grace VanderWaal's Celebration!

Grace VanderWaal's Celebration was a very special day! Thank you to All who helped the Chamber and the Suffern Farmers' Market for pulling together pre-parade festivities for Grace's fans: over a dozen craft vendors, Artytimepainting party, Gate Hill Day Camp carnival games, Create-A-Parade Sign by Grace's friend Julianna. Thank you to the following Suffern businesses for sponsoring family activities: Heather L Bowie Allstate Agent, Brooker Engineering, PLLC, Movements 4 Life, Better Homes & Gardens Rand Realty, Turco Landscaping & Construction, Berard and Associates CPA, and Gate Hill Day Camp. Thank you also to the Suffern High School Volunteers who came out to help with set-up for the event. As for the parade, the Village of Suffernpulled together a fantastic, memorable event!


A Message from Suffern Mayor Ed Markunas -

Yesterday was a memorable day for Suffern and its community in recognizing "America's Got Talent" rising star, our own local resident, Grace Vanderwaal! We had a great day to recognize Grace and her extraordinary talent! A big shout out of thanks to our Suffern Village Departments for making "Grace Vanderwaal Day" a huge success yesterday:

RECREATION DEPARTMENT - in planning, organizing, scheduling sponsors and key participants without a hitch. Thank you to Cathy Mills, Recreation Director, and Recreation Department staff.

STREET DEPARTMENT - in preparing the parade route, stage setup, emergency lighting andclean-up services. Thank you to Joe Hunt, Street Department Supervisor, and to the Street Department staff.

FIRE DEPARTMENT - in developing a proactive strategic fire response emergency plan for the day's activities, if needed. Thank you to John Salmon, Chief of the Suffern Fire Department, and to our volunteer Firefighters.

POLICE DEPARTMENT - in developing and implementing a comprehensive safety plan including protecting parade spectators and key participants alike and providing overall safety for the Village of Suffern. Thank you to Clarke Osborn, Chief of the Suffern Police Department, and to the entire Police Department. A special thank you to Sergeant Rick Marsh who was instrumental in developing our safety and security plan.

The Grace Vanderwaal parade and post activities were memorable and an enormous success due to the dedicated support and professionalism of our Village Departments. Thank you again!
